Finally, I painted something and it came out halfway decent. This hasn't happened in a while. I actually REALLY love this, I think it's my best work in a very long time. Looks soooooooooo much better in person, but oh well, I'm not a photographer.

*Edit, 16 March 2004: Fixed up his hair a bit and eliminated the mouth completely. It was giving me trouble, but that wasn't the reason for the elimination. I think it says more without the mouth. I've always had problems verbalizing my emotions, this is a representation of that.
**Edit, 7 August 2004: While at Pratt, I added more contrast in the hair and figure...
I really like the expression and the colours,
the shading is awesome as well,
the only thing that bothers me is the mouth area...
but yeah, this is definatly a fav!
Your use of colors in this is fantastic (as always! ) I especially love how the red really jumps out. And the contrast of the cool colored tones in the body against the warmer ones in the hair is great.
I agree with magrittesbowlerhat that the lips and the mouth could be darker.
LOVE it. I'm a big fan of orange so I think this painting is super. Also the contrast and texture and shadows in the skin is beautiful, and my favorite part is the eye.

This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.

I love the lines in the neck.
The lips and mouth could be a bit darker, so they stand out more. (Again, they're a focal point.)
I agree with magrittesbowlerhat that the lips and the mouth could be darker.
Great job!!! It really turned out nice
